Cheney to Leahy: 'Go F**k Yourself'

By June 25, 2004

Follow me on:

Cheney to Leahy: Go Fuck Yourself Vice President Dick Cheney blurted out an obscenity at Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy during a testy exchange on the Senate floor. The incident occurred after Leahy harangued Cheney about profiteering by Halliburton and President Bush's judicial nominees. According to the Washington Post, the exchange ended when Cheney offered some crass advice: "Go f**k yourself." The Washington Times put it this way: "Cheney...responded with a barnyard epithet, urging Mr. Leahy to perform an anatomical sexual impossibility."

"On the Senate floor, Dick Cheney flipped out and told Senator Pat Leahy to go F-himself. Can you believe that? Aren't these the same guys trying to fine Howard Stern for bad language?"--Jay Leno

Update: In an April 2010 interview with Dennis Miller, Dick Cheney reflected on telling Sen. Patrick Leahy to "go f**k yourself", saying "That's sort of the best thing I ever did."

He (Cheney) should have told the c suc*** to “go f**k your mother”. This would have been more appropriate.

This is exaclty why I voted for Cheney twice. Thanks Dick for validating my vote. Sen. Patrick Leahy can go bleep himself.

(4) What a Dick Jay is says:

That’s why you voted for Cheney Jay? So he could bankrupt America by funneling money to corrupt corporations?

And you are happy that he told the one person looking out for taxpayers to go f**k himself? Very intelligent. Please go f**k yourself.

(6) Jeff "I'm not a f-cking coward, like 'Conservative' Glick" says:

Yes, “Conservative” — (wait, didn’t that used to stand for civil, reasoned, restrained support for traditional values??) — you confirm that the fans of the Dicks of this world are no more legitimate than ol’ Dick was, himself.

Here, I’ll let Leahy speak for himself:

[In an interview after the incident], Cheney insisted that the animosity between the two has been “patched up,” — but some, it seems, still remains.

In a 2009 interview, Leahy was asked about the former V.P.’s cryptic assertion that the Obama administration had made it easier for terrorists to successfully attack the United States:

“I just want to say here Bush and Cheney were in charge when the last attack happened,” Leahy said. “They were warned about the last attack before it happened. On September 10th their proposal was to cut our counter-terrorism budget substantially. I don’t need any lectures from him. They screwed up badly.

“They are also the same people who said the war in Iraq would be over in a couple weeks, shock and awe and we would find the weapons of mass destruction. Their policy was to let Osama bin Laden get away when we had him cornered and send the troops into a useless war in Iraq. No, no, I don’t think he has a great deal of credibility.”

As George Carlin would have said, “Un-f_ck you”, “Conservative”.

Sorry, Jay . . . didn’t mean to leave you out.

Unf_ck you, too.

(8) CR Moreno says:

Dude says he “voted for Cheney twice.” There are a few reasons to laugh at such a statement. As an American, I’ve voted in every election since turning 18, yet I have never cast a ballot for a Vice-president. Also, saying you voted for Cheney is to circumspectly admit that Bush was a Muppet with Cheney’d hand up his ass, working the controls.
