Fox News Runs Fake Story Mocking Kerry

Friday October 1, 2004
Fox "News" was forced to post a retraction and apology after its chief political correspondent filed a fabricated story describing John Kerry as a "metrosexual" who gets manicures. The story, written by Carl Cameron, quoted Kerry as saying, "Didn't my nails and cuticles look great? What a good debate!"

"Women should like me! I do manicures," Kerry continues, adding, "I'm metrosexual — he's a cowboy."

Fox pulled the story after Josh Marshall, who writes Talking Points Memo, spotted the story and promptly slammed Fox for trying to pass it off as news.

Fox attributed the reporter's "error" to what it called "fatigue and bad judgment."

Fox News: We distort, you decide.

Why rely on Fox for fake news when you can get the real thing here?
