Bush Flips Out

Thursday July 28, 2005
President Bush was allegedly caught on video giving the finger to the press during a visit to Capitol Hill this week. The White House, however, says Bush was merely giving the thumbs-up sign.

The video clip was originally aired on "The Tonight Show" and has since made its way onto various Web sites, where the curious have been trying to discern which presidential digit was raised.

It wouldn't be the first time Bush flipped out in front of a camera. In another recently unearthed video from his time as Texas governor, Bush was seen giving a "one-fingered victory salute" to a reporter prior to an interview. It also wouldn't be the first time someone from the administration employed a vulgarity on Capitol Hill.

Was Bush trying to send a message to the press? Check out the video and judge for yourself.

More Bush-League Humor
The Pew Research Center polled Americans on their impressions of President Bush and found that just as many people are likely to describe him as an honest, determined Christian leader as an incompetent, arrogant, stupid idiot.

David Letterman presents a list of the "Top 10 George W. Bush Solutions For Global Warming" (#5. I dunno — tax cuts for the rich?).

PERRspectives looks at Billboard's "Top 10 Bush Sound Bites" (topping the charts this week: "Ongoing Investigation").

Joke of the Week
"The White House has changed their slogan from the war on terror to the global struggle against violent extremism. Well that just rolls off the tongue. Is that a good idea, giving President Bush more syllables to pronounce?" —Jay Leno
