The Funniest Blog Post of the Year
Tuesday March 7, 2006
As most hardcore political junkies and blog addicts know, some of the best political satire these days continues to come out of the blogosphere. For the casual Web surfer, though, it's nearly impossible to track it all down, which is why we are happy once again to salute the Koufax Awards, an annual competition honoring the best left-wing blogs.
Our favorite category is "most humorous post," and this year's competition has several dozen nominees. Last year the award went to "Poker With Dick Cheney" by The Poor Man. Here are a few highlights form this year's entries:
• The Wizard of Oil (Dood Abides at Daily Kos)
Our 43rd president gets a Judy Garland makeover and familiar tunes with new lyrics.
• The New Youth Craze (Rox Populi)
Provocative conservative pundit "Michelle Maklin" blows the lid off a leafy green menace.
• Adventures of Battle-Action Bush and the Keyboard Kommandos (Poor Man)
Powerline's John Hinderaker enters the Mainstream Media Matrix to do battle with Agent Krugman of the New York Times.
• The Long, Jolly Slog (Fafblog)
A front-line dispatch from the trenches in the War on Christmas.
• The All-Nighter (TBogg)
A sullen Iraq slacks off, risking a strict grounding and no TV privileges.
