'President' Gore on Saturday Night Live
Sunday May 14, 2006
Watch a hilarious video clip of Al Gore addressing the nation as if he were president in the opening skit of Saturday Night Live. Gore, whose appearance was a surprise, provided a glimpse into a parallel world as he recounted how events of the last six years unfolded following his "overwhelming" victory in 2000.
Watch the video or read the transcript of Gore's comedy sketch.

This was a really brilliant skit, and Gore’s comic timing was impressive. He’s always seemed like quite the wooden stiff, but this was a good moment for him, not to mention a great satirical slam on the Bush administration.
My favorite line was when he said, “Baseball, our national pastime, still lies under the shadow of steroid accusations. But I have faith in baseball commissioner George W. Bush when he says, “We will find the steroid users if we have to tap every phone in America!”
Damn. Makes me wistful for what might have been. Re-elect Gore in 2008!
Why can’t I get the video to play? Loved the skit though.
