Al Franken has announced he will run for Senate in Minnesota in hopes of defeating incumbent Republican Norm Coleman. If elected, Franken would be the first comedian to serve in Congress, or at least the first professional comedian.

Al Franken for US Senate! He’s smart, he has guts and conviction, he doesn’t let people bully him, and he’s got a genuine and honest character. Makes great sense… Al Franken Sense!
Al Franken for Senate? Are you kidding me! Its ironic, since he’s failing at his current profession (radio) he wants to join congress and try to screw them up some more. Honestly, would you vote for a guy that cant even take care of his own finances ($79,000 in back taxes owed)? I’m sure he wouldn’t mind raising taxes on himself because he sure wont mind doing it to the rest of us! Get real people, this guy is a joke. He was a failure as a comedian, his radio show has horribly low ratings and now he wants to get a job where he can fail on the public’s dime. If you vote for him you deserve such a miserable failure as a leader. Maybe its a good thing he’s running in MN, hopefully he’ll be snowed in most of the year so he wont have the opportunity to travel to Washington and screw up the rest of America.
