Bush Reading Book Upside Down

From the Washington Post:

As a candidate, George W. Bush once asked, "Is our children learning?"

Now he has an answer.

"Childrens do learn." (Watch video clip)

Bush made the remark at the White House while assessing the success of his No Child Left Behind Act. As Bushisms go, it rates as an instant classic.

A few other memorable quotes from the Education President:

"Reading is the basics for all learning." --announcing his "Reading First" initiative in Reston, Va., March 28, 2000

"You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test.'' --Townsend, Tenn, Feb. 21, 2001

"Then you wake up at the high school level and find out that the illiteracy level of our children are appalling." --Washington, D.C., Jan. 23, 2004

It’s too bad we act like his moronic comments are amusing instead of appalling.
