Wednesday October 3, 2007
1) "The phony soldiers." --on U.S. service members who support withdrawal from Iraq

2) "He is exaggerating the effects of the disease. He's moving all around and shaking and it's purely an act. ... This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox. Either he didn't take his medication or he's acting." --on an ad by Michael J. Fox endorsing Claire McCaskill for Senate for supporting embryonic stem cell research

3) "And don't forget, Sherrod Brown is black. There's a racial component here, too. And now, the newspaper that I'm reading all this from is The New York Times, and they, of course, don't mention that." --on the 2006 Ohio Senate primary race involving then-Rep. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), who is white

4) "This is no different than what happens at the Skull and Bones initiation...I'm talking about people having a good time, these people, you ever heard of emotional release? You ever heard of the need to blow some steam off?" --on the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal

5) In 1995: "Too many whites are getting away with drug use...Too many whites are getting away with drug sales...The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them, and send them up the river, too."

In 2003: "I am addicted to prescription pain medication."

I can speak positively about the Michael J Fox thing. You have taken it totally out of context. I watched Mr. Limbaugh on the dittocam when he was discussing this. He said that Mr. Fox exaggerated it for the camera and Mr.Fox validated it by saying he stayed away from his meds before he does commercials and testifies so his affliction is more pronounced.
You are merely another totally biased liberal.

How do you choose from an absolutely overwhelmingly huge set of options?

You could staple transcripts to a giant wall somewhere and throw five darts, and every time, you’ll get five perfectly wonderful possibilities for dumbest things ever said…

(4) Eric says:

Obviously you have a man crush on Rush to be so enamored as to list his minor missteps…
No ones perfect…and no one is listening when you make a miss quote…don’t worry…Rush will be on the radio again tomorrow so you can tune in…

Reid is nothing but a hog who thinks he can wield his power to shut down Limbaugh just in time for the presidential election.

What is he afraid of – another GOP win?

Only the liberals believe that Limbaugh maligned American soldiers. We all know that it is the extreme left that despises the U.S. military.

As one who listens to Limbaugh every day, I know what he said and what he meant about the phony soldier Jesse MacBeth, and there is nothing to change my opinion of the conservative host.

Here is one American who will buy a satellite-radio system if Limbaugh’s days of free radio are terminated.

(7) Tim says:

It is amazing to me that some people actually defend Limbaugh about the Michael J. Fox comments. Obviously, Michael J. Fox is manipulating his body and brain when he takes his medication to slow his body and brain down. I guess Limbaugh only understands the side-effects of taking medications as pertains to oxycontin.

(8) James says:

“‘The phony soldiers.’ –on U.S. service members who support withdrawal from Iraq”

No, you are wrong, sir.

The comment is about soldiers who lie about things they saw, things they did, and their time in the service.

And those soldiers are the phony soliders.

Why is that so hard to understand for you people?

(9) Ryan says:

The phony soldiers comment was about a army recruit who didn’t even make it half way through basic and then lied and said that he was a vet who opposed the war.

The others were taken out of context except for the Sharrod Brown comment.

Cute list though.

(10) Sara says:

Ryan, James, and Tony – I agree. I taught Deaf students at an Army base. I know what it’s like to deal with a 1st grader that won’t see his dad for a 18 months because he is IN IRAQ. Because he is a REAL AMERICAN SOLDIER. Rush was not talking about those soldiers. He was talking about guys like Jesse MacBeth, or should I say Jesse Al-Zaid? Daniel Kurtzman, you need to get your facts straight before posting this crap on About.

(11) Nick says:

Wow, it always amazes me how Rush is always taken out of context. His inane rant about M.J. Fox and some of the comments posted here defending him are ridiculous; “MJ was exaggerating his affliction”. The man has Parkinsons! By not taking his medications hew wanted to display the real effects of his affliction. Obviously to some of the folks here that was just plain wrong. MJ should have just kept taking his medications and stated that all is well with his affliction.

And lets all be honest here; the “phony soldiers” comment is directly related to individuals that do not agree with Rush’s ideas.

I noticed that most of Rush’s supporters never addressed any of the other items on the list. But based on the previously posted Rush apologists, I am sure there is a plausible reason for all of Rush’s foolishness…you just have to have faith.

(12) Craig says:

Why is it that you never see anyone quoting or even misquoting liberal talk-radio hosts? Oh yeah! Because nobody listens to them long enough for the show sponsors to want to keep paying them. And why is that?

As for Rush, not a big fan, but obviously, if you’ve been on the air as long as he has, you’re going to say some stupid crap along the way.

(13) Jim says:

How about: “I like to vacation there because the age of consent is only twelve.”

February 15, 2009 at 1:39 pm
(14) Scott says:

No one with a brain could have heard Rush’s comments about the phony soldiers and failed to understand he was talking about people like Jesse McBeth who have lied about being soldiers or in combat. The obvious context of the discussion was that the media is so anxious to find critics of the war with apparent military credibility they will prop such people up without caring whether they are legitimate. That he thinks this was a dumb quote tells me more about Mr. Kurtzman than anyone else.

An idiot like him is not worth my time.

(16) Penelope says:

Only naive, unintelligent individuals think Rush Limbaugh is an idiot.
If you were open-minded enough to actually LISTEN to what he’s saying, I guarantee you would think differently. (Not so much that your political option would sway, but so much so that you would think differently about conservatism.)

(17) jason says:

Limbaugh has proven time and again that he is nothing but a racist, sexist, hypocrite. Come on, seriously anyone who thinks that there are more trees in the U.S. now than there were when Columbus discovered America, he has to be on drugs.
