Barney Frank's Town Hall Smackdown

By August 19, 2009

Follow me on:

Barney Frank's Town Hall Smackdown For weeks now, the lunatic fringe has been rising up at the healthcare town halls to accuse President Obama of everything from creating death panels to conspiring to kill Grandma to recreating Nazi Germany.

Finally, a Democrat has delivered the bitchslap these nutjobs so richly deserve.

In response to a questioner at a town hall meeting who compared Obama to Hitler, Rep. Barney Frank said, "On what planet do you spend most of your time?"

He accused her of propagating "vile, contemptible nonsense," and added, "Trying to have a conversation with you would be like trying to argue with a dining room table."

The video of Frank's town hall smackdown is a must-see.

Barney Frank-Inspired Hilarity

You Are A Dining Room Table Frank's "dining room table" line is quickly becoming an Internet meme. See this picture inspired by Frank's quote, as well as the #diningroomtable trending topic on Twitter.

Jon Stewart gave Barney Frank "snaps" and suggested other insults he could use in the future.

Meanwhile, Stephen Colbert set up a debate between Frank and a dining room table.

FYI, the woman protester, Rachel Brown, is a DEMOCRAT and staff attorney in the Elder Unit of the Legal Assistance Corporation of Central Massachusetts here:

Rachel is active in LACCMís Community Lawyering and Litigation working groups, and is a co-chair of the Worcester County Bar Associationís Committee on Services to the Poor & Homeless.

Rachel is deeply concerned about the “death panel” provisions encouraging end of life medical practices to save money.

The Obama posters come from the website of wacko left-winger Lyndon LaRouche.

There’s your bitch slap.

Is there a bigger MORON in the entire US House than Barney Frank? Go ahead…keep chiding regular Americans and see where it gets your party in the 2010 elections. You already are very close to losing the senior vote. Go ahead….keep it up!!

Whether she is democrat or republican, she is still an idiot. The “death panel” diatribe has been refuted over and over and, sadly, the provisions to encourage people to TALK TO THEIR OWN DOCTOR about how to handle the end of their life has been REMOVED FROM THE BILL! SO NOW WE GET TO WAREHOUSE OLD PEOPLE as meat in nursing homes because we don’t have the guts to admit death is a matter of timing, not something that can be avoided forever.

Now, if the REST of the democrats could grow a pair to deal with the ranting idiots screaming at the town halls.

Sorry, Dave, but comparing Obama to Hitler and healthcare reform to Nazi policies does not qualify that woman as a regular American. I’m afraid the only MORON in this scenario is her. And you.

lol Dave if that woman was a regular American then your country is worse off then I thought. Loved Mr Franks honesty. Come on to compare Obama to Hitler? That deserves a ridiculous response no matter what side of the health care debate you are on.

Gimme a break. I would hate to be represented by a lawyer dumb enough to swallow all this death panel and Hitler crap, let alone spout it out in public.

can anyone point me to some intelligent conservative/skeptical analysis of Obama’s Healthcare plan? Or are conservatives now compelled to label him a Racist/Nazi/Socialist/Usurper for fear of being pilloried by Limbaugh.

Well, maybe you’d think again now that they are recommending not having mamograms until age 50. They feed it to you in small bites. Mrs Brown was just stating the future facts, because she understands the goal of the administration.

Humoursly enough, she is running against Frank for his seat!

Have ANY of you read the ‘death panel’ provisions part of the bill? As a lifelong democrat, I’m sorry that the Obama-Rham-Pelosi-Orzag-Summers-Ried gang is pushing us to agree with Sarah Pailin!

What Reid did set it VERY clear in the secret meetings ‘televised on cspan’. The house will have NO power to ever go against what the ‘panel’ recommends will be covered and not covered. You’re too old? OH WELL! You’re not useful anymore! You want a mammogram? NOPE! It costs too much!

Rachel Brown supports the Hill-Burton act which gave Americans universal health care from 1945-1971 until Nixon gutted it and brought in the HMO system.

Actually READ what the people behind Obama who push this wrote about Euthanasia! This is modeled upon the British NICE method, in which a huge amount of the deaths have been through INVOLUNTARY EUTHENASIA. Prostate cancer survival rate has gone down from roughly 93% to about 56% due to the ‘NICE’ panel and they admitted it, it’s to save money!

This is all modeled upon Hitlerís T4 program in which a ‘death panel’ decided in what situations should you save someone, and when should you kill them so they would not be a ‘burden to the state’. Hitlerís doctor, Karl Brandt was sentenced to death in Nuremburg for his involuntary euthanasia practices under T4…the same practices you guys are defending while thinking you’re being GOOD DEMOCRATS, like this is some kind of football game Vs. the Republicans and not a fight for our republic.

The HMO system is largely owned by hedge funds, and companies AIG; we are now forced to give our money to AIG to bail them out further in usurious practices.

Get over it guys, it’s time to cut the traitors out of the Democratic Party and go back to the party of FDR. The ‘British Empire Free Trade’ model is dead like communism and only lemmings continue to cling on to it.

FYI, Bobby Iwabucci –

It’s a different Rachel Brown who works at LACCM. I know her personally and she doesn’t have anything to do with the Larouche activist. Stop spreading false information.
