Does Mitt Romney want a better "America" or a better "Amercia"?
A typo on his new iPhone app has sparked widespread ridicule from the online peanut gallery.
The best ribbing came from a new Tumblr blog, "Amercia Is With Mitt," which features a series of snarky images overlayed with the typo. BuzzFeed has a roundup of the best images.
Stephen Colbert, meanwhile, said Romney's misspelled iPhone app isn't a problem.
"It's a brilliant strategy. Now Mitt Romney can become the president of America or Amercia," Colbert joked. "He's just doubled the odds."
In solidarity, Colbert then sang a rousing rendition of "Amercia the Beautiful."
Of course, it's possible the misspelling wasn't a mistake after all. It could be the Romney campaign's deliberate attempt to court Tea Partiers, who have made clear that they, too, wish to take back "Amercia."
