Mitt Romney: The Most Gaffe-Prone Presidential Candidate Ever

By November 5, 2012

Follow me on:

Mitt Romney Gaffes Win or lose in November, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has already made history. In the 224 years since the first presidential election, no major party nominee has committed so many disastrous gaffes in his quest to lead our nation.

No one has thrown their campaign so completely off the rails by compiling such a rapid record of ridiculous pronouncements. No one has insulted so many Americans with greater speed, flip-flopped with greater ease, botched basic diplomacy with greater ineptitude, or engaged in small talk with greater awkwardness than one Willard Mitt Romney.

No, not even George W. Bush, at least during his first presidential campaign.

Read our collection of Romney's greatest gaffes and judge for yourself.

A few highlights:

"There are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims."

"Corporations are people my friend."

"They brought us whole binders full of women."

"I like being able to fire people."

"I'm not concerned about the very poor."

"I believe in an America where millions of Americans believe in an America that's the America millions of Americans believe in. That's the America I love."

"I'm not familiar precisely with what I said, but I'll stand by what I said, whatever it was."
