While facing off against Barack Obama in the second presidential debate, John McCain added another gem to his impressive litany of idiotic statements:"There was an energy bill on the floor of the Senate loaded down with goodies, billions for the oil companies, and it was sponsored by Bush and Cheney. You know who voted for it? You might never know. That one,” McCain said, pointing to Obama. "You know who voted against it? Me." (Watch the video, my friends.)
McCain has been roundly criticized for the bizarre, dehumanizing reference to his opponent. It could have been worse, though. He could have called him a terrorist.
Naturally, buttons and t-shirts promoting "That One" for president are now all the rage. You can find a wide variety here.
McCain Calls Americans 'My Fellow Prisoners'
Either McCain has gotten so used to playing the POW card, or he's beginning to lose it.
While campaigning in Pennsylvania, McCain said, "Across this country this is the agenda I have set before my fellow prisoners. And the same standards of clarity and candor must now be applied to my opponent." (Watch video clip)

Did McCain say the country needs “a cool hand on the tiller”? The Amish focus group would’ve tested through the roof on that line if they were watching.
“That One” is going to be next President of the United States.
If “that one” becomes President…God help us! =)In reality, God help us anyway if this is all people take away from this debate….I felt they were pretty even until McCain made Obama look like a child when discussing foreign policy and national security….
After all I have seen about all the things McCain and Palin have said, they have absolutely no class, and have lied, backstabbed and tried to dehumanize Obama and they purely disgust me. I think Mc Cain would sell out his own Mother if he thought it would further his ambitions. Heaven help our wonderful country if they get to be President & V. P.. Palin is an idiot and McCain is beyond dispicable. Obama has been classy, in his treatment of McCreepy no matter how rude McCreepy has been to Obama. Obama is the better choice for President. He holds himself to much beter standards than McCain even could think about.
This is between a patriot and a preacher. Obama has no substance and does not deserve a commander in chief position. Period.
Tax the rich and give to the poor…I am glad I am working to support people who don’t want to work. I pay more taxes in one year than they will pay in a lifetime! and Obama calls that fair? What is fair about that?
I employ 35 people and would like to grow that to 100 within 3 years. Under Obama I will have no shot at it as I will be raped in taxes.
Have a nice day.

That one? On my!! He said that one. Honestly, have you nothing better to do?
McCain might as well have called him “boy.” The guy has zero class, and it’s just one of the many reasons why he’s getting trounced in this election.
Everyone is completely overreacting to the “That one” remark. Focus on policies and substance. This “that one” thing is nothing!
RJ: Not everyone who is “poor” doesn’t work. And some of those people don’t work because they don’t have options – inner city education is a joke and child care costs are out of reach for people who make minimum wage. Even with a $7.25 minimum wage, a full time worker will make a 15,080 annual salary before taxes. Try living on that with even one child.
Yes, there are people to abuse the system. Yes, small business owners get the shaft just like the middle class. But there are also people who work every bit as hard as you, but without the opportunities.
Once you start talking job training, child care help, and improved public transportation, I’ll respect you.
Stabbler: Are you kidding me? It’s very much so a big deal. Calling someone “That One” is very disprectful. He should have just called him “boy”. I don’t want a leader who is direspectful like McCain has been.
Hello,
I understand and appreciate your point. I am not implying that I am better than anyone due to the fact that I earn more money. I completely appreciate everyone who contributes to society in any way shape or form. However, I will not tolerate paying for someone who will not get off the couch and work, or people looking for handouts and to be taken care of by the government. Many Obama supporters are looking for a free ride “Obama will help us” “Tax the rich guys” What is their definition of rich? I don’t consider myself rich if I compare myself to my neighbors or when I read Forbes, however, I am dam proud of what I have achieved.
By the way, I started off making 6.25/hr in the beginning of my career, I earned every penny myself, I came from nothing and built a successful business. The people who work hard in my business are rewarded. The people who want a free ride are let go. I am left with little choice due to rising costs and a tax increase that may come my way. Again, I earn it, I should keep it. I pay more property taxes than most people, I buy expensive cars which in turn provide higher commissions to salesmen, I have people who take care of my landscaping, accountants, lawyers etc. The guy making 15k provides little to the economy financially… it’s the sad truth.
Again, I understand your point but I do more than my part in this world by providing a work place with opportunities to people who want to succeed and by spreading my earnings locally and by paying the gov more than my fair share – to the tune of 300k last year…
Regards,
RJ
Wow, nothing better to do with your time? So sad that many of you will follow blindly. McCain is more respectful than Barry will ever be. Please grow up. Vote McCain/Palin not for party but for country!
What exactly is “humor ” in America?Whether it is the overated late night comedy shows or stuff like this blog, the so-called humor is actually ridicule, which deabatably is the lowest form of humor or hardly humor. There is little subtlety to it.
Allrigty Liz you moron, elect that idiotic McCain and the dim wit Palin so we can have more of the last 8 years. If you thought Bush was a great President, you must be stupider than Palin has shown herself to be so far. McCain is nothing special. All he does is potray himself to be a hero, well the real heros are the ones who truely did give all to the country and did not return to bragg endlessly about what heros they were. He is useing the Vietnam war to guilt trip people into giving the presidency to him. He will just continue George Bushes distruction of our great country.
