Tina Fey reprised her famous Sarah Palin impression on Saturday Night Live in a sketch lampooning the 2012 Republican presidential hopefuls. (Watch video)
Appearing in a faux Fox News debate alongside other "candidates you wish you knew less about" — including Donald Trump, Michele Bachmann, and Mitt Romney — Fey was back in fine form as Palin: "First I want to acknowledge that this week we finally vanquished one of the world's great villains. And I for one am thrilled to say good riddance to Katie Couric," Fey said.
"It's just so great to be back on Fox News, a network that both pays me and shows me the questions ahead of time," Fey added. "I just hope that tonight the lamestream media won't twist my words by repeating them verbatim."

Bill Maher: 'Obama Is One Efficient, Steely-Nerved, Multitasking, Black Ninja Gangster President'
In one of his most memorable "New Rules" segments in recent months, comedian Bill Maher drew a stark contrast between President Obama's ninja-like achievements and Republican failures to live up to their supposed strengths. (Watch video)
"The Republicans — the fiscally conservative, strong-on-defense party — are neither fiscally conservative nor strong on defense," Maher said. "9/11 happened on your watch. And you retaliated by invading the wrong country. And you lost a 10-year game of hide-and-seek with Osama bin Laden. And you're responsible for running up most of the debt, which, more than anything, makes us weak."
Maher continued: "You're supposed to be the party with the killer instinct. But it was a Democrat who put a bomb in Gaddafi's bedroom and a bullet in bin Laden's eye like Moe Greene. Raising the question: How many Muslims does a black guy have to kill in one weekend before crackers climb down off his ass?"
Heaping praise on Obama, Maher said, "Why can't you just admit that Barack Obama is one efficient steely-nerved multitasking black ninja gangsta President? In one week, he produced his birth certificate, comforted disaster victims, swung by Florida to say hey to Gabby Giffords, did stand-up at the Correspondents Dinner, and then personally rappelled into bin Laden's lair and put a Chinese star through his throat without waking up any of his 13 wives! That's how it went down, I saw it on MSNBC."

If Palin is so washed up, a candidate we wish we knew less about, why is so much ink spilled on writing her off and air time spent slamming her? The volume (large and shrill) of hit pieces targeting her suggests that those generating them must regard her as a serious political threat. Why waste all that effort on someone so trivial? If they really thought she was an awful candidate, easily beatable, why wouldn’t they prop her up? Politically it makes no sense to attack her; the extent of the attacks belie the trivializing caricatures of incessant ridicule.
