Mark Foley Sex Scandal
Friday September 29, 2006
It’s been a while in between good political sex scandals, but Rep. Mark Foley (R-Fla.) has provided us with a doozy following revelations that he exchanged sexually explicit message with an underage boy.
Foley promptly resigned after the transcripts were made public of an IM chat he had with a 16-year-old congressional page. ABC News has the goods:
In addition to creating a vacancy in the House, Foley's resignation means he will not be able to continue his work as chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children, where he evidently had been doing a heck of a job.
Late-Night Jokes
The late-night comedians will surely have a field day with the scandal in coming weeks. Jay Leno fired the first volley:
"A Congressman from Florida, 52-year-old Mark Foley, resigned because of questionable emails he wrote to a former male page. The page as 16 years old at the time. And out of force of habit, the Catholic church offered to move him to another parish."
More Leno: "I don't think this Mark Foley guy gets it. When a reporter asked him what he's going to do after he resigned, he said, 'I'm going to Disneyland!' ... Actually, today he got a new job. He's going to join former New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey's book tour."

Maf54: You in your boxers, too?If you're really brave, you can read the full transcript that ABC News has posted on its Web site, but be forewarned, it’s graphic and highly explicit.
Teen: Nope, just got home. I had a college interview that went late.
Maf54: Well, strip down and get relaxed.
Another message:
Maf54: What ya wearing?
Teen: tshirt and shorts
Maf54: Love to slip them off of you.
And this one:
Maf54: Do I make you a little horny?
Teen: A little.
Maf54: Cool.

Comments
Here’s a great video clip of Mark Foley saying, “We track library books better than we track pedophiles.”
and also:
“Well, if i were one of these sickos, I’d be nervous with America’s Most Wanted on my traill.”
Shameless.

Hey buddy! Mark Foley is a good man, no better a good Republican. Tell you what. I think it’s just unAmerican to even question someone’s morals in public office. Especially if they’re a good Christian man. I think this site should be taken down.
